The American Civil War Ends at Appomattox Court House (1865) The first major engagement of the US Civil War was the First Battle of Bull Run, fought in 1861 partly on the farm of Wilmer McLean in Manassas, Virginia. A few years later, McLean moved to Appomattox Court House, a town which, coincidentally, would soon be the site of the war's effective end. It was there that Confederate General Robert E. He is best known for his pioneering use of multiple still cameras to photograph the stages of motion. Hired by Leland Stanford to answer the question of whether there is a moment during a horse's stride when all four of its hooves are off the ground, he developed a special shutter for his cameras and a method for triggering them sequentially. திருச்சி: திருச்சி அருகே பாடாலூரில் இன்று காலை நடைபெற்ற சாலை விபத்தில் தமிழக சுற்றுச்சூழல் துறை அமைச்சர் மரியம் பிச்சை ( வயது 60 ) மரணம் அடைந்தார். சட்டசபை உறுப்பினராக பதவி ஏற்க திருச்சியிலிருந்து சென்னைக்கு இனோவா காரில் சென்றபோது இந்த பரிதாபம் நடைபெற்றது. பாடலூர் பிரிவு அருகே, முன்னால் சென்ற டிப்பர் லாரி மீது அமைச்சரின் கார் மோதியதால் விபத்து ஏற்பட்டதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.

விபத்தில் பலியான அமைச்சர் மரியம் பிச்சை, திருச்சி மேற்கு தொகுதியிலி்ல் முன்னாள் தி.மு.க., அமைச்சர் நேருவைத் தோற்கடித்தவர். திருச்சி சங்கிலியாண்டபுரத்தைச் சேர்ந்த மரியம் பிச்சைக்கு ஒரு மகள் மற்றும் 3 மகன்கள் உள்ளனர். திரைப்பட விநியோகஸ்தராக இருந்த இவர் திரையரங்கையும் நடத்தி வந்தார். இவர் பி.ஏ., (வரலாறு) பட்டதாரி.
